Being part of a sibling duo myself, this picture *points above* put a smile on my face. I too have a (not so) little sister, I am 5 years her senior. Growing up I can so relate to the act portrayed in this photograph, let me tell ya. The first 15 years of our co-existence in our mom’s house weren’t peaceful. Yeah sure baby sis was cute when when she was born up until she was 2, after that we created a strong love-hate relationship when we were young. Me and my sister are like fire and ice, we differ to much, but like ying and yang in the end us being ‘responsible’ adult type figures now we get along like peanutbutter and jelly (most of the time). Kind of an odd combination but putting them together tastes great.
So I came across this set of photographs of 2 sisters, shot by JWL Photography. It just reminded me of the silly funny goofy mischievous stuff you did with your younger sistert. Just click on the selection below to view the full set.
Perez is like my favorite Relnicht as we say in Dutch, I guess the right translation would be ‘riotfag’, but I mean that in the nicest way ever. Anyway, yesterday I was reading his blog I ain’t lying, I read that online daily right after the news update. So yeah, I was checking perezhilton.com and saw that Perez made his very own song called ‘The Clap‘. Boy ow Boy ow Girl ow Girl, I so love this song! It’s a very happy gay (not gay gay but old school musical gay) tune. You really feel like clapping along, so I did, and then, then I started listening to the lyrics of the song, boy ow boy ow girl ow girl, that cracked me up even more.
The way the melody of the song goes, it reminded me of my favorite musical movie of the past few years you know Hairspray. And guess, what the guy who is responsible for the production is the guy who did the production for ‘Cooties’ that appears on the Hairspray Soundtrack; RevoLucian.
The reason I got into studying Music Business/Management is that I love music, I love the industry, and I am not talented enough to master an instrument of any kind (Unlike Daan who kills on the bass guitar) to make a living by making music. The second best way of getting in to the game is by making sure that the talented ones get a chance to make a living, by helping them out on the business side of things. To sooth my inner I-wish-I-was-in-a-band person, I play Singstar, Guitar Hero and Rock band with friends and rock out!
Today I found out I can rock out without having that expensive game console near me and buy those games, plastic guitar and extra mics. Nope, all I need is my trusty MacBook but any other laptop or computer will do as well, now that Jam Legend is around. Jam Legend has a bit more extras than say Guitar Hero, you can play against or with people all over the world. The nicest feature yet is that you as an artist can submit your own songs to be played on Jam Legend, and in time you can play every guitar song on Jam Legend. So this is a great way as an upcoming band to get your song heard. Since I’ve been playing I’m humming the tune to “Stand Tall’ by the Dirty Heads
Right now you need an invite to get some action. Either you have a friend on there that can hook you up, you get an invite from Jam Legend … or you just click here the first 500 gets a free invite. Start Jamming I’m Kimster_P challenge me, btw I suck so winning will be easy.
One of my favorite artists teams up with one half of my favorite rockbands.
That’s right AK got together with Jack White of the White Stripes to write/compose and sing the title track of the new James Bond flick. True it has to be said, I am kind of disappointed that in the end Amy Winehouse was’t capable making the song with Mark Ronson for this movie. But hey Alicia Keys and Jack White isn’t a bad substitute, now is it? In theory that is, at first listen I’m not to fond of this tune, but who knows maybe it will grow on me, eventually?
